Why we exist

Our group believes that the research in epidemiological studies in relation to the causes of childhood cancers has to be a continuous research. We are committed to provide means to academic researches and health professionals to further their research and to expand our knowledge on the subject.

We know factually that;

Research on the causes of childhood cancer is an under-funded field because the incidences of childhood cancer is rare compared to adults (approximately 1.0-2.5 per thousand per annum).

New ideas cannot be easily tested.

The follow-up studies cannot be easily achieved.

Current scientific studies primarily focus on the diagnosis, treatment and after-care.

Non-therapeutic studies are labour intensive because, apart from the bureaucratic processes, reaching out to patients and their parents are difficult.

Continuous research focus needs to be created on the causes and risk factors of childhood cancers in general. It is tremendously important that research is carried out globally with a wider participation.

Continuous standardised information needs to be collected from every child who has been (sadly) diagnosed with cancer.
